Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

The Dasinya Journal for Engineering and Informatics welcomes original, high-quality research articles, reviews, and technical papers in the fields of engineering and informatics. To ensure a smooth submission, review, and publication process, authors are advised to follow the guidelines below.

Editorial Criteria and Processes

Before submitting to Dasinya, authors should familiarize themselves with the editorial procedures and publication standards to increase the likelihood of acceptance.

The editorial process is divided into three stages:

  1. At Submission

At Submission

Criteria for Publication

Manuscripts must meet the following:

  • Originality: Must contain novel results or analysis and must not be published or under review elsewhere.

  • Scientific Significance: Should make a meaningful contribution to the field of engineering or informatics.

Publication Limitations

Each issue is limited to publishing a maximum of 30 articles. Submissions exceeding this quota may be deferred to subsequent issues.

Editorial Board

Our editorial board consists of qualified scholars who ensure independent, fair, and timely reviews. Final decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief based on referee recommendations.

Submitting an Article

Authors are required to follow the DJEI Formatting Guide. Manuscripts must be submitted via the online submission system to ensure proper tracking and timely processing.

After Submission

Once a manuscript is submitted, the following steps occur:

Initial Screening

The editorial team checks for:

  • Scope alignment

  • Compliance with formatting and ethical guidelines

Peer Review Process

  • Each manuscript is assigned to at least two independent reviewers.

  • Authors receive a decision or status update typically within four weeks.

  • Reviewer comments are shared within one month, followed by an editorial decision.

Appeals

If a manuscript is rejected, authors may appeal the decision with a formal request, citing scientific justifications.

After Acceptance

Accepted manuscripts undergo several final steps before publication:

Subediting

The editorial team edits the manuscript to improve clarity, coherence, and scientific accuracy.

Proofreading

Authors receive:

  • An edited version for review

  • A final PDF proof for approval before publication

Publication Notification

Authors will be notified upon online publication and receive:

  • A direct link to their article

  • A summary highlighting key findings

The journal may also issue a news release or feature to promote notable contributions.

  • All data is stored securely on the servers of Duhok Polytechnic University or authorized hosting providers.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties except:

  • When required by law

  • For indexing purposes with scholarly databases (e.g., Crossref for DOI registration)
